CHRISTOPHER EBLEY
As Chief Technology Officer, Chris Ebley leads Blackwood’s technical vision and capability development, ensuring the company’s expertise remains a differentiator in the marketplace. His role focuses on shaping and scaling technical credibility, translating complex concepts into consumable ideas, and building the systems, resources, and training that allow Blackwood’s technical teams to operate at the highest level. Chris balances customer engagement with organizational enablement, driving the growth of technical leaders and ensuring the company’s capabilities expand in lockstep with its business.
Chris joined Blackwood in 2012 and has been a cornerstone of the company’s technical leadership for over a decade. He oversees Field CTO resources, the engineering team, and the Blackwood Innovation Center - a dedicated cybersecurity lab focused on research, development, and solution validation. In his role, Chris defines and articulates Blackwood’s technical vision, identifying market and technology trends that could disrupt or accelerate the business. He works closely with internal technical leaders to transform individual insights into scalable processes, training, and resources, ensuring knowledge is distributed and accessible across the organization.
Chris’s technical leadership extends to engineering management and delivery, where he mentors emerging leaders, fosters accountability, and ensures engineering involvement aligns with both customer success and long-term business objectives. By driving structured enablement programs, Chris ensures technical teams - including Field CTOs, Solution Architects, and Internal IT - are fully aligned to sales strategy and capable of delivering consistent, high-quality outcomes. Prior to entering cybersecurity, Chris studied History at Purdue University and St. Mary’s College of Maryland and began his career as an ASE-certified Master Technician, working hands-on with high-performance engines and specialized rock crawlers. Beyond work, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and daughter.
