As Chief Financial Officer, Mina Shirey brings a wealth of leadership and strategic expertise honed through her roles as CFO and Interim CEO at QL2 Software, as well as management positions at prominent companies like AOL, Millennial Media, Apple, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. With a background in both quantitative and qualitative analysis and a deep understanding of finance across small, mid and large-size public and private equity-backed entities, Mina is a seasoned entrepreneurial finance and operating executive.

Mina holds an MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, along with dual Bachelor's degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business. She is a results-driven leader with a strong foundation in technical accounting and 10+ years of management and process improvement experience. Her meticulous approach to financial stewardship serves to ensure Blackwood is positioned for sustained profitability in a dynamic market environment, and her ability to transform financial data into actionable insights is critical in the design of financial products leveraged by Blackwood to serve our customer base.

As CFO, Mina is responsible for developing and executing financial strategies, providing strategic recommendations based on financial analysis, overseeing financial operations and reporting, managing risk and compliance, optimizing capital structure and funding, analyzing financial performance metrics, and leading the finance team with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement across the organization.
